UTTARA PHALGUNI

Uttara Phalguni extends from 146° 40' to 160° 00' (26° 40' Leo to 10° 00' Virgo). Uttara and Purva Phalguni, though considered as two separate asterisms, in fact represent one unified whole. This is signified by the connection of Aryaman and Bhaga with these asterisms; in their general disposition, these Vedic deities are much alike. But despite an essential unity, they also have certain distinctive characteristics.

Uttara Phalguni provides the basic energy, the inner urge or eagerness to act, and tremendous confidence in one's own capability. Under favorable conditions, Uttara can help in achieving concrete results, producing a tangible output from nebulous ideas. No amount of difficulty can withhold its progress. Uttara Phalguni represents that courage and endurance which descend on seasoned fighters who are confident of their inner strength, the righteousness of their mission, and the final victorious outcome of their efforts. Uttara Phalguni enables the ego to develop all the skills which result from its battles in the realm of materialism. It is an asterism of ambition, difficulties, and righteous struggle.

On the spiritual side, Uttara Phalguni may bestow ambition and the urge for righteous struggle, but on the materialistic side its impact is felt as a great attraction to black magic.
