Krittika extends from 26° 40' to 40° 00' (26° 40' Aries to 10° 00' Taurus) Only its first quarter lies in Aries while the rest of it falls within Thurus. Two major qualities of this asterism are to be expected. It is symbolized by a razor which is used both for curative as well as murderous intentions. Its presiding deity is Agni. The god of fire has the power to provide enormous vitality, courage and tremendous strength, but if this power is not properly utilized, the repercussions can be devastating.
