MARS - the Generative and Creative Principle

Mars is related to the Serpent Power, the Kundalini Shakti. The semen of Shiva which gave birth to Mars is the Kundalini Shakti, which in ordinary individuals is always downward-moving-the serpent remains coiled at the base of the spine and the semen flows down. In those who have attained liberation, the energy has traveled upward to unite with the Crown Chakra, the Sahasrara, When the kundalini located in the crown chakra of Shiva flowed downwards, it became such a burning fire that nothing could hold it; as an act of sacrifice, the earth consented to nurture it, for which reason Mars is known as Bhumiputra, the offspring of the earth. Surgical operations, accidents and abortions, volcanic eruptions, rebellions, wars and other such phenomena are expressions of inner turmoil coming to the surface. If Mars is well posited, its destructive attributes are modified, and only the finest masculine attributes are exhibited. Such individuals, instead of submitting to lust, may become champions of chivalry and protectors of the earth. Mars in dignity gives one a courageous and invincible disposition impervious to fear and danger, risking his life for a cause, yet prudent in his own way.

The best houses for Mars are the Ascendant, Sixth, and Tenth. The individual becomes youthful and full of energy with Mars in the First house. Personal adversaries and impediments to the fulfillment of one's mission are easily vanquished with Mars in the Sixth.
