SATURN - the Journey's end

Saturn releases karmic forces so that the individual is free to proceed on his journey. One of the most important characteristics of Saturn is its impact on the psychological orientation of the person. Even when Saturn produces its ostensibly beneficial results, it does not enable the individual to enjoy them. It is not so much dissatisfaction as disenchantment which creates a feeling of detachment from life. The grapes are not actually sour but the "inner man" is no longer attracted to them An individual may begin with greed, covetousness, and the thirst for obtaining certain things, but under Saturn's influence a kind of psychological reorientation takes place which renders the individual unable to enjoy the very things be desired. The initial reaction may be sorrow and dejection, but a detached objectivity will finally enable the individual to see the relationship between himself and the world around him.

Saturn is like a huge and intense shadow. The downpour of the creative life-spark has thus far been vivifying various aspects of life, but under the impact of that radiance is obstracted, A shadow is cast. As result of this tendency, the individual feels restricted. A feeling of helplessness arises, and he realizes that some force is thwarting his efforts.

No house placement of Saturn is conducive to auspicious results. However, when placed in the Third or Eleventh house (the base of the Triangle of Materiality) it is not as grim. In the Third house, despite afflictions to brothers and sisters, there may be a psychological orientation which renders the individual clever in worldly matters. In the Eleventh, there can be inflow of money even if the source of income is not socially or ethically acceptable. In the Ninth house, there will be a repulsion to established religion; the individual will produce his own novel ideas and unorthodox approaches to established faith and traditions.

The impact of Saturn on the luminaries is decisively bad. creatine much unhappiness in the life of the person.

Any association of Saturn and the Moon will produce some kind of mental turmoil, depressive feeling, or even suicidal tendencies. Saturn is considered badly placed in the twelfth or second house from the Moon, or especially in the same house. When such afflictions take place in the case of the Sun, the individual suffers immensely. The life force seems to simply ebb out of him.

With Mars, which is ever bubbling with energy, Saturn is not well disposed. These two planets vibrate on opposite wavelengths. Mars desires action, Saturn produces sloth: Mars gives zest for life. Saturn makes the individual depressive. Mars explodes and exteriorized, while Saturn is the cold wave which shrinks the growing life-plant and makes a person introverted. Aspects between these two planets often paralyze the person.
