Tarot card and The Spiritual Journey

Tarot card and The Spiritual Journey

The major and minor arcane both are different; they work together at all times. Major arcane as stage in the journey of life, beginning with the fool and ending with the world. Our journey through life, from the innocence of childhood to eventually establishing our place in the world.

The fool represents individuality and our potential and innate capacity for development. The magician and high priestess stand for the masculine and feminine parts of our nature. Chinese philosophy refers to these qualities as yin and yang, the active and passive poles of our capacity. The empress, the emperor and the hierophant stand for the crucial factors of the mother, father and an abstracted authority most often represented by a religious figurehead.

The lovers, the chariot and strength represent the skills that we acquire in social and practical areas. The hermit represents the voice of our own wisdom that speaks a conscience and guidance as we develop. The wheel carries us towards contact with the grater social world of events_ circumstances that we cannot control. Justice, the hanged man, death, and temperance present us with highly personalized opportunities for change, growth, and development. We may choose to see these as the karmic lessons from another lifetime, or as the opportunities presented by this life.

The devil and the tower provide testing ground of life. There are personal crashes and big disappointments that ask us to muster all we have to start again. The star, the moon, the sun and judgment all represent a state of us. The world represents a state of who we are as people. The journey is complete.
