PUJA ROOM

Puja Room:

1. The right place for a puja room is in the north-east. However, you can make a puja room in the east or north of the house also. 

2. For a small house where a separate puja room is not possible, make a small temple in the north-east corner of the kitchen or children's room. Do not keep your temple in the bedroom, under or above a toilet or under the stairs.

3. Statue or a pictures of deities should be placed in north or east on a solid raised platform.

4. Always face north or east while praying. 

5. White marble is good for the puja room. The colour of the walls can be white, cream, light blue or violet. 

6. Idols should not be kept facing each other. Cracked/Broken statues should not be kept in the puja room.

7. Doors for the puja room should be of good quality wood and of two shutters. A threshold for this room is a must. 

8. Pyramid-shaped roof. are good for the prayer room as they boost the power of meditation. 

9. It is important to keep the puja room clean and free of clutter.

10. Avoid having pictures of your ancestors in the puja room along with the pictures of deities.
