Pushya is ruled by Brahaspati, the God of Divine wisdom. This is the eighth nakshatra in the zodiac, spans from 3°-20' to 16°-40' in Karaka. Pushyami is derived from Pushti which means nourishment. The word Pushyami means to strengthen, to fortify.
